75th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2015 and so much more

in Motorcycle Trips/South Dakota by

Where do I even begin? This trip to the 75th Annual Sturgis SD Motorcycle Rally was so much more than the events in Sturgis. In fact, we didn’t even get to Sturgis until our last day in South Dakota. Car or motorcycle, this part of the United States is a must see. But I do have to say, on the back of my love’s motorcycle was, by far, the BEST experience of my life. It heightened all my senses and brought us even closer (hard to believe I know!) together as a couple.

While we were on vacation we saw several interesting places. Too many to put all in one blog post so below is the summary of our trip and if you click on each destination (as I create it) it will go further in to detail of those destinations and our wanderings at each of them. I hope you enjoy it even a fraction of what we did! Keep Reading

Oceanfront Camping in Maine

in Coastal Trips/Hiking/Nature/Maine by
Recompence Campground Oceanfront Campsite

Wayward Wanderers Camping in Freeport MaineOceanfront camping in Freeport Maine is just what our family needed this summer. We were nestled in to our cozy campsite with our easy set up tent, removed from the hustle and bustle of every day living and for the most part were away from the annoying cell phones that seem to penetrate our perfect bubble at the most inopportune moments. Ahhhhh, the setting was absolutely magical with the ocean views, wildlife and smells of outdoor living wafting around! Even the little bit of rain we experienced the first evening added to the excitement of camping and had us laughing! Removed from society, we were able to focus on what matters most: each other… and marshmallows of course! 🙂 The Recompence Shore Campground on the Wolfe Neck Farm land in Freeport, Maine offers the best of everything if you love the outdoors like we do! It’s got location, amenities, and activities galore!

Pennsylvania Trifecta: Chocolate, War, and Love

in Memorial Day/Pennsylvania by

11297802_10204749534324125_1912526263_nA trifecta by definition is a run of three wins or grand events. Our trip to Pennsylvania was certainly classified as this. We traveled to 3 very different areas of Pennsylvania over Memorial Day weekend and were surprised at our feelings toward each. Where we expected excitement was sleepy and what we thought would be quiet was bustling. But each place: Hershey, Gettysburg, and Lancaster County brought us to the same conclusion – we wouldn’t want to be with anyone else during Memorial Day weekend! Looking back on other Memorial Day trips, this conclusion is always the one thing that remains consistent. And why each adventure seems better than the last. We are blessed. Keep Reading

I have sampled this life – Hartford, CT

in Connecticut by

I have sampled this life“I have sampled this life.” This is how we feel. For the past two years we have lived and loved and done more than any other time in our lives. And this quote by Mark Twain struck one of many chords this weekend as we explored Connecticut with our family. 3 generations walked the streets of Hartford, CT and sampled this cities art, food and history while basking in each other’s love. These moments are the ones… Keep Reading

New York City On A Budget

in New York/Travel Tips by

Empire State Building Night ViewNew York City was a great place to spend our 2 year anniversary. We have both been there but neither of us has ever explored it “Wayward Wanderer” style… It’s so romantic and when you have an awesome partner to travel with and experience with, it’s the best! Destinations planned but no set schedule… ah, just wandering, wandering, wandering… Some of our best finds are ones we wander on to. Neither of us can imagine a different way to explore! And traveling on a budget to New York City, well that just made it that more fun and interesting!

New York City is one amazing place that everyone should see at least once! There is so much history, so much adversity, and so much excitement lurking at every turn! But, like most cities, it’s expensive. The Wayward Wanderers went though on a budget and it wasn’t bad at all. We saved money with discounted tickets, smart decisions, and knowledge about what to expect before we went. We talked to friends about what they had done, researched online and comparison shopped. We want to pass all that information along to you, our faithful readers. And hope to see you in the Big Apple on one of our return trips! There will be many more to come as we are in love with NYC! And 2 1/2 days just isn’t long enough to see it.
